Before you... who did your puppy know ?
Our Breeding dogs live as pets, first and foremost…..
They are loved and they are part of real families. They are trained, and they pass their acceptable and learned behaviours and good habits, on to their puppies – this makes our puppies easier to train and raise when they go to their new families….
Likewise, our breeding dogs and our puppies are not “kennelled” ….
They don’t have to be, they are toilet trained, or they are learning to be, and learning the consequences of when accidents happen from an early age. This is also a form of enrichment. Learning for your puppy begins much earlier than the 8-9 weeks old when you pick her/him up.
We don’t just breed for the sake of making puppies or as many puppies as possible….
We watch our Breeding dogs, we know what we like. This goes deeper than hair colour or type. We watch their temperament; we watch how they interact with other dogs and other puppies that aren’t their own. We watch how they are when they are first time mothers’, how well they cope and how their pups cope with being newborns. We are learning all the time, but we do consider Dams and Sires, and their pairing, we breed for temperament, health, trainability and coat.
We DNA test all of our Dams and Sires for health and traits. We do not just claim “clear by parentage”.
We practice puppy enrichment…
We go beyond a pile of toys. In the safest way possible, before pups are vaccinated, we expose them to our small & busy world:
slippery tiles, carpet, different rooms, music, traffic noises, the car/car rides, small children, singing, the collar, the lead, loose leash walking, nail clippers, brushing, bathing, blow dryers, washing machines, lawn mowers, squeaky toys, dog houses, you name it !
We want puppies that come when called, accept the collar/leash, are happy to go in a crate and will allow grooming/nail clipping, are aware how to use a toilet-training aid – LONG before they leave for their new families.
We love to involve our new owners…
We are happy to provide updates as your puppy grows and we love to hear from you even once you have our puppy, we are all a part of the Dantapelle family.We are happy to provide photos, videos and photos of the puppy parents. We are proud of “our DNA”.
We are aiming for consistency and reliability in our breeding…
The difference here is being able to predict the outcome of pairings of certain Mum’s and Dad’s, not just size and coat, but temperament, and suitability to therapy/wellbeing/AAT modalities.
We feed a high quality, raw/fresh and biologically available diet to our breeding dogs and our puppies once weaned…
This gives your puppy the best start at life. We all know epigenetics plays a big part in health and disease but also behaviour.
We aim to offer a personalised experience. We are not a puppy farm, we are honest and we love our dogs. We raise our puppies like our own babies, we choose their new owners carefully, and we love to see them grow into amazing Doggos and bring love and light to those around them.
Seeing how they grow and develop helps to influence our breeding choices, for the better, into the future.
